THE CAFE<br>DE FLORE

DERBY ALMA LOVES THE IRREPLACEABLE CAFÉ DE FLORE

If you are looking for authenticity, or want to experience a meal in a typical Parisian setting, look no further. We take you to Saint-Germain-des-Prés, in the historic Café de Flore. This Parisian café, dating from 1887, inspires us by its literary history and its refinement, having seen the passing of France’s highest names such as Charles Maurras, Apollinaire or Aragon.

Originally a simple, unpretentious bistro, the Café de Flore has become over the years a high place in the history of Paris, first welcoming the authors and politicians of the royalist movement.

Whether for lunch or simply for a coffee on the terrace, we love this lively atmosphere, which plunges us straight back into the Paris of the Belle Epoque.

MORE THAN A CAFE, A REAL INSTITUTION

When you go to the Café de Flore, we strongly recommend that you go there at lunch time. Afterwards, sit on the terrace, so that you can admire the teeming vegetation that is above your head, the time for the server to arrive at your table to take your order. On this subject, we recommend the chef’s suggestions such as the duck parmentier or the heart of rumsteak, cooked in the purest French tradition.

Once your order has been taken, we invite you to enter the restaurant. Immerse yourself in its atmosphere, its decoration which, we are sure, will give you the impression of taking a leap back in time, at the beginning of the 20th century, in the Paris of artists and philosophers.

The Café de Flore represents for us the nostalgia and the beauty of this fascinating era of Paris’s history. We do not fail to go there, as much as possible, at least for the time of a coffee.
