Café de Flore

Inspiration

Writing is one of my great passions, it allows me to travel in distant lands, new and unknown. When I begin writing an article, it's an adventure that starts.

There is a place where I like to go in order to write: the Café de Flore. The atmosphere allows me inspiration. The hubbub and the back and forth stimulates me. Watching people pass on the street, listening to conversations around me is a real inspiration.

This small “café” located in the heart of Saint-Germain-des-Prés has a rich past. Simone de Beauvoir and Jean-Paul Sartre often wrote at the Café de Flore. It was a place of meeting and friendship. Today, it is still possible to meet intellectual and artistic figures.

Memory

The Café de Flore is a place that  that we deeply love with Monsieur Inwood.  After a long day of work, the warm atmosphere of the place allows us to meet together in a certain tranquillity. It is an ideal place for a nice moment to share.

We spent in this place unforgettable moments. I am reminded of a summer day, in the middle of August, the heat was stifling and we decided to meet at the Café de Flore to enjoy a drink.

Mr. Inwood was sitting outside. Very elegant, very weel-dressed, he was wearing a white shirt and beige linen trousers. He seemed happy and at that moment I felt a wave of emotion invade me.

He looked at me smiling, I was touched by the tenderness that I could read in his eyes. I felt that something wonderful was happening, it was almost impossible for me to look away.

The Café de Flore now represents to me a magical place where all dreams are allowed.
