LE DERBY ALMA IS A FASHIONISTA
Founded in 1920 by Condé Nast, Vogue Paris, the most famous and oldest French fashion magazine celebrated in 2020 the 100th anniversary of its first publication. For the occasion, the Musée de la Mode de la Ville de Paris at the Palais Galliera had to pay tribute to this pioneer of fashion, elegance and refinement, which has been a favorite of women around the world for 100 years.
Like a mirror of its time, Vogue Paris magazine is the fashion reference. This unique exhibition will highlight the creative and innovative capacity of the famous magazine, as well as its desire to defend French fashion. The exhibition Vogue Paris 1920-2020 retraces the history of the magazine through the eras, the trends but also the different editorial choices of the editors in chef who have shaped the magazine over the last 100 years.
A PASSION FOR FASHION
Vogue Paris 1920-2020 will bring together more than 400 of the magazine's mythical works: photos, illustrations, sketches, films, first editions and also haute couture models who have marked the magazine's covers. Like a fashion Bible, Vogue Paris 1920-2020 will highlight the designers that the magazine has supported throughout their careers such as Yves Saint-Laurent or Karl Lagerfeld, but also the different artists, photographers who have given the magazine its elegance and refinement; Klein, Newton or Bourdin and Horst.
Without surprise, Catherine Deneuve and Kate Moss are the ones who embody La Femme Vogue. They who posed for the most covers of the magazine will be honored here through the various shots and films made during their photo shoot.
A long-awaited exhibition not to be missed from October 2nd until January 31st. During your visit to the Palais Galliera, don't miss the other exhibitions that the temple of Parisian fashion offers, such as the exhibition 'Gabrielle Chanel. Fashion Manifesto' or 'A history of fashion. Collecting & exhibiting at the Palais Galliera'. Until then, we remain available for the organization of your most beautiful Parisian escapades.
